How is RentCaddie different from AppFolio or Buildium?
RentCaddie is built for hands-on property managers who want rent, leases, books, maintenance, and resident workflows in one place. Starter begins at $27/mo when billed annually, Pro adds deeper automation, and Portfolio supports larger teams and operations.
Do I need a credit card to try it?
No. You pay nothing until RentCaddie has collected your first rent, for up to 60 days. No credit card to start. After your first rent lands you have 7 days to choose a plan. You get every Pro feature for up to 25 active leases.
Is there a contract?
No contracts. Pay monthly and cancel anytime, or pay for a year up front and get two months free. Cancel from your dashboard.
Do I have to migrate my existing data?
You can start fresh or use the Smart Importer. If you need help moving existing data, contact us so we can review the format and scope with you.
Can I rent by the room?
Yes. Per-room (rent-by-the-bedroom) leases are native — each roommate gets their own lease, portal login, and ledger, and pays their share independently. It's the thing the enterprise tools make you fake with workarounds.
What payment processor do you use?
Stripe. Each property manager connects a Stripe account, and Stripe processes tenant payments and payouts. Stripe processing fees and settlement schedules apply.
Is my tenant data private?
Yes. Each workspace is isolated at the database level. We never share data across PMs, and we never sell tenant data.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep access through the end of your paid billing period. You can request an export of your workspace data before account deletion.
