01 What we aim for
Landlords, residents and applicants use RentCaddie to pay rent, sign leases and ask for repairs. Those are things nobody should be shut out of. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, on our public pages, the resident portal and the application form, and we treat a barrier as a defect to fix.
02 What we have done
- Every page can be used with a keyboard, with a visible outline on the control that has focus and a link that skips past the menu.
- Form fields have labels, and a field that needs fixing says why in words, not only in color.
- Text can be zoomed, and pages reflow on a small screen without sideways scrolling.
- Movement is reduced when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Pictures that carry meaning have a text description.
03 Where it may fall short
Documents a landlord uploads, such as a scanned lease or a photographed bill, are shown as they were provided and may not be readable by a screen reader. Maps on listing pages come from a third party. If either stops you doing something, tell us and we will get you the information another way.
04 Tell us
If any part of RentCaddie is hard to use, email hello@rentcaddie.com with the page you were on and what you were trying to do. We read every message and will work with you to fix it or find another way.
