What house share means in practice
A house share and a co-living house can look identical from the street and behave very differently on paper. In a house share the household is the customer: one lease, one deposit, one rent, and the roommates settle up between themselves. In co-living the housing provider is the counterparty to each resident and does that settling itself, which is why the two models need different agreements, billing, and turnover work.
Three friends sign one lease for a whole house and split the rent between themselves; the housing provider bills one amount and does not track who paid whose share.
